The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Boston



Hope burns bright. The light from the luminaria bags at Relay For Life reminds us of those we lost and inspires us to find a cure for this disease. Make a difference in the fight against cancer by joining the Relay For Life of Boston. Form a team and come participate in this moving and life-changing overnight event that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost and fights back against a disease that takes too much.

24th Annual Beyond Shelter Gala



Over twenty five restaurants are participating in this year’s event, including Eastern Standard, Union Bar & Grill, Treat Cupcake Bar, Hamersley’s Bistro, Flour Bakery + Cafe, Ashmont Grill, Aquitaine, Tavolo, and The Fireplace. Narragansett Beer is the official beer sponsor for the event. The annual gala also features a raffle and live auction with items including Red Sox and New England Patriots autographed sports memorabilia, concert tickets, fine art, jewelry, and luxury city weekend getaway packages. 100% of event proceeds will benefit Friends of Boston’s Homeless.

Who: THE TIME IS NOW………Become a Hospice Volunteer


What: Support a patient in need of companion visit, errands, scrap booking, letter writing or simply listening to someone’s incredible stories.


Where: Our patients are located anywhere from North Reading to Woburn to Boston and as far as Braintree, Massachusetts.


When: Two day training scheduled for April 16th and April 17th, 2011


Cause: Support our all age Hospice Patients.

Volunteer with the 26th AIDS Walk Boston!


Volunteering for AIDS Walk Boston is a great way to both support the fight against AIDS and also have some fun! Each year, AIDS Action Committee relies on hundreds of volunteers to help serve the 15,000+ attendees that participate in the Walk and the Larry Kessler 5K Run.

Once again AIDS Action Committee is looking for talented, dedicated and hard working individuals to fill the following volunteer positions:

-Pre-Event Office Support

-Course Marshals

-Crowd Control

-Finish Area Volunteers

-Registration Volunteers

-Run Volunteers

-Post Event Office Support

-Special Skill Areas: Truck/Van Drivers and Photographers

Big Apple's Circus' Circus of the Senses




Help the Big Apple's Circus" Circus of the Senses is a unique performance of the Big Apple Circus that provides children with vision or hearing impairments and other special needs an opportunity to experience the excitement of classical circus under the big top.

The special features of this performance include a live, detailed Audio Description of the acts broadcast through wireless headsets, Braille and Large-print programs that contain vivid descriptions of each act, and American Sign Language interpreters stationed throughout the tent. After the performance there is a Touch Session, where a small, pre-selected, group of vision-impaired children are invited to come into the ring to meet our performers, pet some of the show animals and touch some of the show props and acrobatic equipment.

What you will be doing:

Volunteers will assist in handing out programs, assisting children from buses to tent, and helping with post show Touch Session. Note that Big Apple Circus requested Cell #'s incase they need to contact volunteers at the last minute regarding the show.
